An Innovative Photsmart System
Ever the innovator, in 1997 HP released the first PC photography system and dubbed it the HP Photosmart. At the time of release printing photos could only be carried out by specialised services but HP saw a gap in the market. The original HP photosmart system allowed people to scan photos, negatives (remember those?) and slides to then be printed at a quality high enough to be framed or added to an album. Along with the printer HP also released the Photosmart digital camera with a whopping 4MB flash card that could store a mind boggling 40 pictures and could be reused as many times as needed.
HP Still Leading the Way
Since the release of the original HP Photosmart printer digital photography technology has improved exponentially. The digital camera has become an item of daily use and the desktop photo printer is an everyday household item. The HP Photosmart series of printers have been in a constant evolutionary state with models dedicated to specific quality and particular needs.
